2. Explanation
In lieu of a concept
Many feel that everything that happens here in Central Asia is somehow not right, is done upside down — as if it is done topsy_turvy, bass_ackwards, inside_out, not the way it should be, and so on. But somehow, nevertheless, everything is somehow working, sometimes even with its own charm, even though in many cases with all sorts of „Asian specifics“. We almost don’t notice that anymore. Technically, everything is almost okay, or at least it wants to look that way. Although sporadically there are periods of all sorts of exascerbations, during which you can see the inside, or what or who is hidden behind the scenes, looking out in all its glory….
A dysfunctional situation demands asymmetrical action…………………………………………….

We are interested in artistic projects and gestures that actively inter_act with their context, or that cardinally change the existing situation and turn it inside out. Because that’s exactly when the essence comes to light….ъ\ъ-х… «A good artwork is always already inside out».

Не для белых галерей, а в результате какой-то внутренней истории
What’s important is that this time the participating works are not collected in halls or galleries, but are installed or present themselves in actual, real, live spaces, so that they already undergoing the test of timeliness and relevance in the surroundings where the artists themselves live, work, create and interact.
Every author creates their artwork for a concrete location or situation, and that is where the artwork should be installed, so that they bring their meaning to the situation and the space (in a basement, street, or city square, in the kitchen, the toilet, the landscape and so on).
Every artwork should have its own specific space, within which the essence of this work, its power and its pertinent perception by the viewer become apparent,
The format
The format of works for this competition is a commentary and photo- or video documentary (up to three minutes) of existing artistic projects that were realized in a concrete local situation — as objects, installations, performances and actions, public art, or in genres such as painting, graphic art, collages, photo series, texts and so on.
At the opening of the „exhibition“, only the photo and video documentation will be shown, the artwork will be presented by one of the curators of the call, and the authors themselves can appear with a commentary.
The participants will spend a few days together. For this, on April 1 an interesting location in the city will be identified where the representation of the participating artworks and the prize award ceremony will take place. On the next day (April 2), we will do a joint excursion outside the city, get together in the evening and do the traditional discussions with the artists.
The organizers think that April 2 is just as important and interesting as April 1; it is a more informal inside_out version of April 1.
Another, separate topic is the interpretation of the artistic statements and situations. For this, we will opt for Tarot cards. In fact in the Tarot the perception of reality is deformed and begins toто ради чего искусство и существует. начинается магия
Participation in the call
As participants we invite everybody: from Central Asia and from abroad, who participated earlier, and who would like to try their hand at this new competition, as well as everybody who would like to participate in the preparation and organization of the competition itself. For participants who travel from abroad or from other cities, a place to stay in Bishkek will be provided; travel itself can not be covered.
Application
The application shall indicate the name of the artwork, a short description of the situation and concept, a photo documentation or video stills, the parameters of the artwork itself, as well as a stylized sketch in the form of a pictogram or logo. The organizers will provide an application form.
The deadline for applications is 21 March 2020, 18:00 Bishkek time.

- 18:00 — opening, presentation of projects (with commentaries by the members of the curator team)
- 19:00 — jury presents winners, award ceremony
- On 2 April 2020
- Excursion with/for the participants;
- Interpretation (гадание по имиджам представленных работ на картах Таро), в помещении Группы 705, в 17:00.
